Government • Sand animationThe UAE’s space programme drawn live on the Dubai Opera stage for the international space operations community.
SpaceOps gathers the people who run missions: agencies, engineers and operators from around the world. MBRSC hosted the 2023 edition in Dubai and wanted the opening to capture the country’s space ambitions in a form the whole hall would remember.
A sand animation performed on the Dubai Opera stage, taking the audience from desert to launch pad to the surface of Mars: habitats, rovers and an astronaut among them. Every stroke was projected across the full stage screen.
A technical audience watching a story about their own work, drawn in sand on one of the region’s great stages.
